STEPS AFTER ACCEPTING CHRIST ( THIS IS WHAT HELPED ME GREATLY)

1. Cut Off All Temptations Immediately
This step is serious. If you want to stay clean, you need to shut the door to sin.
-
Delete TikTok, Instagram, and all social media that distracts you or tempts you.
-
Block any friends you sinned with or who pull you back.
-
Use AdGuard or other apps to block explicit ads.
-
Create a new Google account and start fresh. Let your recommendations and searches be clean.
Remember: it’s better to start over with God than to keep pretending while living in chains.
2. Spend Time with God Every Day
You now belong to Jesus. So your time belongs to Him too. Start and end your day with God:
Morning Routine:
-
Wake up at least 1–2 hours early before school or work.
-
Start with worship: play a 1-hour worship song that stirs your spirit (like "Breath" by Hillsong).
-
Sit in God’s presence, talk to Him, cry if you need to. Just be honest.
-
Thank Him for what He’s done, repent for what you did wrong, and ask Him to help you that day.
Evening Routine:
-
Talk to God again. Tell Him about your day.
-
Bring your fears, doubts, pain — He listens.
-
End the day in prayer and Scripture.
-
Spend at least an hour in prayer and in the word of God
Choose when you want to spend most time with God, whether morning or evening.
-> HOW TO PRAY GUIDE
At first, it might feel like you have nothing to say. But as you keep going, you’ll realize you have more to pour out than you ever knew.
How to pray:
-
Thank God: for protection, peace, food, moments He saved you.
-
Repent: Ask God to forgive you for the sins of the day.
-
Ask: Tell God what you're struggling with (fear, lust, boredom, temptation, jealousy, doubt).
-
Intercede: Pray for your family, friends, school, community, enemies.
-
Listen: After praying, just be silent. Let God speak back.
3. Read the Bible Daily
The Bible is your food. If you stop eating, you’ll die spiritually.
Where to Start:
-
Start the bible from Genesis during your longer Bible study times. -> you can choose what time of the day you want to spedn most time in prayer and in word of God. choose morning or evening something you will do everyday
-
Psalms and Proverbs in the shorter bible study times — they teach wisdom and comfort. -> in the other period of the day if u chose the longer bible time to be evening then in morning read these books. or another book of your choice from the bible like Revelations to learn more about the last days we are living in
Tips:
-
Pray before reading: "Holy Spirit, help me understand."
-
Highlight, underline, and write key words as you read the bible
-
Use sticky notes to write what God reveals to you.
-
Journal your favorite verses and what they mean to your heart.
4. Fill Your Life With Godly Content
The more time you spend watching, listening, and reading godly content, the more your heart will stay close to Jesus.
Watch:
-
Sermons, testimonies, Christian YouTube videos (that help you grow not those that make u feel better condemming people or false teachers)
-
Proverbs 31 woman content (for girls), spiritual growth videos, end time teaching.
Listen:
-
Worship music only — songs that bring you closer to God.
Read
-
The Bible first.
-
Christian books and devotionals etc— but nothing that replaces the Bible.
5. Keep the Sabbath (God’s True Day of Rest)
The true Sabbath is Saturday (sunset Friday to sunset Saturday). This was given by God in Genesis and written in the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20).
Why keep it?
-
God Himself rested on the seventh day.
-
It’s a holy day of rest, reflection, and worship.
-
Most importantly : Because we Love Jesus and therefore want to truthfully keep His commandments
What to do on Sabbath:
-
No shopping, no working. -> finish all work before the sabbath whether buying, selling, or working
-
Rest, read your Bible, pray, worship.
-
Spend time with God and reflect on the week
Sabbath ideas:
-
Pray longer and deeper.
-
Read God’s Word — especially Isaiah 58, Exodus 20, and creation in Genesis 1–2.
-
Go on a nature walk and worship.
-
Journal and reflect on your week.
-
Write down what God spoke to you that day.
why to keep the Sabbath on the Seventh day Saturday not Sunday the 1st day of the week?
I know that Many Christians today go to church on Sunday because that’s what everyone else does — it’s what their parents did, what most churches do, and what society calls the “Lord’s Day.” But here’s a hard truth: just because the crowd is doing it doesn’t mean it’s right in God’s eyes. God never told us to keep Sunday holy. In fact, the Bible teaches the exact opposite — that the true Sabbath is Saturday, the seventh day of the week, and that truth has never been changed or canceled by God. When you open your calendar or search “What day is the 7th day of the week?” on Google, it clearly shows Saturday. That’s not a random human decision — it goes all the way back to the beginning of the world. In Genesis 2:2–3, after creating the earth, sky, seas, animals, and humans in six days, God Himself rested on the seventh day. He blessed it. He made it holy. Not Sunday. Not Monday. Only Saturday — the seventh day. This was long before the Israelites, long before Moses, and long before sin even entered the world. That means the Sabbath wasn’t a Jewish idea — it was a creation gift from God to mankind.
Now fast forward to Exodus. When God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, He didn’t forget about the Sabbath — He included it right in the middle of His most important laws. Exodus 20:8 says, “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” Why would God say "remember" unless He knew people would forget or ignore it? He didn’t just speak these commandments — He wrote them with His own finger on stone, showing that they are permanent and unchanging. But today, many Christians say, “That’s the Old Covenant. It doesn’t apply anymore.” Really? Then let’s ask some honest questions. Is it okay to murder now? Is it fine to steal, lie, or commit adultery just because the Ten Commandments are in the Old Testament? Of course not. So why do we act like breaking the Sabbath is okay? James 2:10 says, “Whoever breaks one commandment is guilty of breaking all of them.” That means if you break the Sabbath — even if you’re keeping the other nine — you’re still breaking God’s law.
So where did Sunday worship even come from? It’s not in the Bible. Not once did God, Jesus, or the apostles say, “Now Sunday is the new Sabbath.” Instead, Sunday worship was introduced hundreds of years later — by the Roman Catholic Church, not by God. In the early centuries after Jesus' resurrection, Roman rulers and bishops wanted to separate Christianity from Judaism. Since Jews kept the Saturday Sabbath, early leaders pushed Christians to worship on Sunday instead — the day the Roman empire already honored as “sun day”, in celebration of the sun god. In 321 AD, Emperor Constantine passed a law declaring Sunday as a day of rest for the empire. Later, the Roman Church fully enforced it and even admitted this change was their own doing. Don’t just take my word for it — Google "Constantine Sunday law 321 AD" or "Catholic Church changed the Sabbath" and you’ll see this truth in history books and their own church writings. In fact, Catholic leaders say openly: “Yes, we changed the Sabbath to Sunday, and Protestants follow us, not the Bible.” That should wake us up. Why are we following man’s traditions instead of God’s commandments?
Many well-meaning Christians try to justify Sunday by saying, “Jesus rose on Sunday, so that makes it holy.” But here’s the truth: Jesus’ resurrection never changed the Sabbath. God didn’t make the seventh day holy because of an event — He made it holy because He rested. Changing the Sabbath’s meaning changes its purpose entirely. Malachi 3:6 says, “I, the Lord, do not change.” God didn’t cancel the Sabbath when Jesus rose — just like He didn’t cancel "do not steal" or "do not kill." If He was going to change the Sabbath, He would have said it clearly. But not one verse in the Bible says Sunday became holy.
The Sabbath is not about legalism. It’s not about earning your way to Heaven. It’s about love. John 14:15 — “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” If you love Jesus, you keep what He kept. And guess what? Jesus kept the Sabbath. So did His disciples — even after His resurrection. Luke 23:56 says the women rested on the Sabbath “according to the commandment.” Even in the New Testament, believers were still honoring the 7th-day Sabbath.
Finally, let’s talk about why this matters. The Sabbath is a sign between God and His people. Ezekiel 20:12 — “I gave them My Sabbaths as a sign between us, that they might know I am the Lord who makes them holy.” And in the final days, Revelation 14:12 says, “Here are the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” That includes the 4th commandment — the Sabbath. This is not a small issue. In God’s eyes, it’s serious. If we throw out the Sabbath, we are throwing out part of God’s holy law. And if we allow man to change God's law, then we’re giving man authority over God. Do you really think God would say, “Now it’s okay to kill,” or “Now it’s okay to lie,” just because the world changed its standards? Of course not. So why treat the Sabbath like it’s different? Remember Jesus said in John 14:15 that " If you love Me Keep My Commandments
When you know the truth, it’s your responsibility to follow it. This isn’t about being better than anyone — it’s about being obedient. It’s about walking the narrow road, even if everyone else is on the wide one. Matthew 7:13-14 reminds us the broad road leads to destruction, and many follow it, but only a few take the narrow road that leads to life. Don’t follow the crowd. Follow Christ. The Sabbath was made by God at creation, written in stone by His own hand, never changed by Jesus, never changed by the apostles, and never unblessed by God. It is still holy. It still matters. And it still applies. Saturday is the Sabbath. It always was. It still is. And it always will be
7. Never Trust Your Feelings — Trust God’s Word
Your heart and mind will try to deceive you. You may feel like going back to your old life — but that’s your flesh fighting your spirit.
When you feel tempted:
-
Pray immediately.
-
Say out loud: “Get behind me, Satan!”
-
Rebuke the thought and quote a verse like James 4:7: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
-
Always remember that God will never allow you to be tempted by a tempted you cannot overcome it says in the bible 1 Corinthians 10:13. It states, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
REMEMBER TO -> Keep your armor on:
-
Satan will come back to tempt you. But you’re not the same. You are covered by Jesus.
Stay ready, stay praying, stay in your Word. This is a war — but we already know who wins.
Welcome to life with Jesus. He saved you for a reason — now walk with Him like you never look back.
You are a new creation. You are free.
Let’s keep walking together.
